Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdez

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 8:30 am. Begin your adventure as you cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m), offering spectacular panoramic views and photo stops.

Shortly after the pass, we take a side road toward Kasbah Telouet, once home to the powerful Glaoui family, known as the "Lords of the Atlas". Although the site suffered damage in the 2023 earthquake, its exterior still tells stories of power and history, best explored with a local guide.

Continue through the picturesque Ounila Valley, passing by small Berber villages, colorful rock formations, and ancient Kasbahs, before arriving at Aït Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy lunch here and explore this famous ksar, featured in countless Hollywood films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

After lunch, drive through Ouarzazate – the “Hollywood of Africa” – then cross the Tizi n’Tinfifte Pass toward Agdez, gateway to the Draa Valley, Morocco’s largest palm oasis. Stroll through palm groves and discover the traditional lifestyle of the locals.

Overnight: Traditional guesthouse in Agdez
Meals: Dinner included

Day 2: Agdez – Draa Valley – Zagora – M’hamid – Erg Chegaga Dunes

After breakfast, visit Kasbah Tamnougalt, one of the oldest kasbahs in the Draa Valley, still partly inhabited today. Then follow the ancient caravan route once used by traders from sub-Saharan Africa, winding between the river and the mountains through lush oases and Berber villages.

Along the way, your driver will show you dinosaur footprints near Tansikht and the prehistoric rock carvings of Foum Chenna, estimated to be over 4000 years old.

Continue to Zagora, the largest Saharan town, and enjoy lunch. In nearby Tamgroute, visit the traditional green pottery workshops and the ancient Quranic library, one of the oldest in Morocco.

Afterward, drive to M’hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the desert and the end of the asphalt road. Then, venture off-road for 60 km across the desert to reach the Erg Chegaga dunes (up to 300m high).

Enjoy a camel trek through the golden sands and watch the magical sunset over the Sahara. Your evening continues with traditional music around the campfire and a star-filled sky.

Overnight: Luxury desert camp at Erg Chegaga
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner included

Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Lake Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at camp. Then cross 90 km of untouched desert landscapes toward the dry Lake Iriqui, where mirages dance in the heat and small fossils can be found.

Stop in Foum Zguid for lunch — the first town after the desert — or in Taznakht, known for its handwoven Berber carpets. Here you can see local women weaving traditional designs by hand.

In the afternoon, the journey continues through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, eventually crossing back over the High Atlas to arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, marking the end of an unforgettable desert adventure.
