Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley (330 km)

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 8:30 am to begin your desert adventure. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) and enjoy stunning views of valleys, winding roads, and Berber villages built with adobe.

Stop for photos along the way before reaching Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous Kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take time to explore this incredible ksar, which has served as a backdrop for many Hollywood films such as Gladiator and The Mummy.

After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate to visit the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Then travel through the palm groves of Skoura and the Rose Valley, known for its annual rose festival and local cosmetic products.

Drive along the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs before arriving at Dades Valley in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at a charming hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert and Camel Trek (270 km)

After breakfast, depart toward Todra Gorge. Along the way, pass through Tinghir and enjoy the scenic Todra Valley lined with palm trees. Arrive at Todra Gorge, a natural wonder famous among climbers for its impressive cliffs reaching up to 300 meters.

Take a short walk through the gorge before continuing to Tinjdad and Touroug for lunch. Then head to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and as the gateway to the Sahara.

Arrive in Merzouga, where your camels will be waiting for an unforgettable trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. During the ride, stop to admire the sunset and take beautiful photos. You may also try sandboarding on the dunes.

After sunset, continue to your desert camp where you will be welcomed with mint tea. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, listen to Berber drum music around the campfire, and spend the night in your private tent under the stars.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Lake Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and shower at the camp, ride camels or take a 4WD transfer back to the meeting point where you’ll rejoin your driver.

Drive through the arid desert landscape dotted with acacia trees before reaching the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley. Stop along the way to admire the palm groves and panoramic views.

Continue toward Ouarzazate, crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Have lunch in Ouarzazate and then drive back to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour.
